My events for ADHD Awareness Month are all about how to embed sustainable self-care practices in your daily life.
Are you outwardly successful, but permanently exhausted?
Are you over-relying on your huge to-do list and perseverance to push on through?
If so our approach is for you.
Generous, compassionate 1:1 or group coaching enables you to connect to your whole self: head, heart, body and soul. You'll be guided to access your inner compass and wisdom to gain clarity on who you want to become and the next steps you're choosing to take to get there.
Join our tribe! Our online and in-person groups, meet-ups and workshops offer deep connections, insights, and the support of a neuroaffirmative community. You'll find a safe, warm and positive welcome.
Learn how to harness the unique gifts of your neurodivergent thinkers, through consultancy and support, off the peg and bespoke training & workshops or speaking at one of your own events.
We understand how exhausting it is to live in a world that doesn't suit your neurotype. When every day you feel:
-on the edge of burnout
-constantly overwhelmed and exhausted
-overcommitted and people pleasing
-guilty because you're neglecting your self-care
-not able to shake off difficult emotions because of rejection sensitivity (RSD)
-measuring your self-worth by how productive and useful you are to others
-tyrannised by a giant to do list, all the while procrastinating starting anything.
"I am now starting to tune in to my authentic self and let my internal compass guide me"
"The coaching experience is transformative and goes beyond any work I have previously done in therapy."
"Kaye has been pivotal in helping to enable me to be my 'true self' in the world that I live in instead of hiding the best of me away."
"My manager has commented on how much more confident, focused and happier I am."
"I am learning to STOP, take a breath, and think about how/who I want to be when I say these things. I love it!"
"Coaching has been an unlocking experience... it was like having someone untangle my thoughts and intentions and letting that flow into real change and action".
We know that people with ADHD have so many gifts and incredible ways of thinking which can make a huge contribution to the world. Yet, so much of this nuance is lost in the deficit-based, medical model which sees ADHD as a list of “symptoms” that need to be “treated”.
Whilst we don’t underestimate the difficulties that ADHD can cause, we also know that when we feel creative, hopeful, and connected to our purpose, anything is possible for us and our amazing minds.
Many of us who were late-diagnosed have spent our whole lives in survival mode, because we did not know that our brains were different. We may have spent many years believing we were broken and have struggled with periods of depression, anxiety and burnout.
With our unique side-sprinkling of wonder, we enable you to connect to your authentic, fun, and meaningful self, so that you move from overwhelm to clarity, stressed to calm, and survive to thrive.
So many of us can start to thrive on the deep feelings of connection, support and a trusting space when we join a psychologically safe, neuroaffirmative community.
We meet in person on the first Wednesday of the month at the Dining Club, in Deal, East Kent: Positively ADHDeal.
Our next meeting is on the 2nd October from 6.30-8.30 pm.
We also meet online on the third Wednesday of the month on Zoom.
Our next meeting is on the 16th October from 7-8 pm.
Coaching has been life-changing. I was feeling like my responsibilities were spiralling out of control. I knew that I was heading for burnout and worried that I would lose the good relationships I had built in my family and work. I've realised that quiet reflection and periods of rest were a key part of who I am and my strengths. I'm less likely to sacrifice rest or private time for work responsibilities, because I know it'll bring more value in the long run. I've made some big decisions regarding my resources at work, have identified key aspects that I can invest more time in because I find it rewarding (eg mentoring and connection) and have been more cautious and aware of over promising.
Before coaching, my daily experience was of feeling overwhelmed with tasks I had to do at work and home. I was attempting to deal with things by pushing through and working harder. Through coaching, I've become more aware of burnout and what might be sustainable. I'd thoroughly recommend Kaye because she offers warm yet professional coaching, combined with in-depth knowledge of ADHD from a personal and academic perspective. And one unexpected benefit has been the deeper reflections on my close and wider family relationships.
On paper, I looked like a high-achieving individual and I presented as a put-together, intelligent, independent woman. Behind the mask, I felt I was not fulfilling my full potential. Since childhood, I have struggled with cycles of burnout due to the demands of living in a world that doesn’t fit my neurotype. Through coaching, I now have a more balanced and nuanced view of my strengths. I continue learning new things about myself and how my mind works, and I am embracing my authentic self. I also now take time to practice reflective writing to help me process my thoughts and feelings and reflect on the progress I have made.
